Our dream is to see peace and harmony on Earth. Through promoting tourism and cultural exchange, we wish to see a better understandging between different cultures and religions.

In 1990, Mr Yaqoob, a native of Gilgit, started Madina Hotel and Guest House with a few
rooms for budget tourists, which quickly became the most famous backpacker guest house in the whole country. Thanks to Mr Yaqoob’s generous nature, high sense of hospitality and close personal involvement in running of the business, for many years, Madina Hotel and Guest House has been highly recommended in all famous international guidebooks on Pakistan.

Long before “social responsibility” was introduce into the business language, Mr Yaqoob has been running Madina to:

• Promote foreign tourism in the Northern Areas of Pakistan and support friendly and open exchange among various cultures and nationalities
• Through volunteer service, provide young Pakistanis with opportunity to learn skills and gain experience in dealing with foreign tourists
• Provide jobs and extra business for local people

Personal message from Mr Yaqoob

It is our big responsibility of all human beings to make this world a peaceful place, to make it Heaven.

In this world the Lord of Universe has created many kind of creatures like Animals, Birds and different sort of Insects besides the human beings. But the Lord of the world has given special status to human beings over any other creature. Why? I think that the Lord has given wisdom and thinking power to human beings to be able to distinguish between good and bad, negative and positive, right and wrong etc. A wise man thinks not only for himself and his family but for all the human being of the world. This quality makes a human being greater then any others.

Unfortunately, many people have ignored these qualities and have adopted the qualities of animals – like selfishness, greed and misery. They don’t care about the rights of others and not willing to help those in need. Furthermore, such peoples are involved in terrorism, murder, smuggling and other illegal activities.

I would like to request all the children of Adam, particularly the new generation, that they work for prosperity in the whole world; that they work to bring harmony among the different religions and sects, to bring peace in the world; that they help the needy and the poor people and remove all kinds of evil from the society.

Otherwise our world is going towards destruction. Everywhere, there is disturbance,voilence and restless environment. People are not feeling safe, and they have lost their freedom. In such situation it is our responsibility to think about all these problems, and to play an active role to turn the world towards peace and stability. It is to our own benefit.

If we are not prepared to take actions ourselves, then we should not keep hopes about our bright future as human beings. If we are not doing good deeds then how can we expect to receive goodness in return? We must do good to get good. We can save lives of others by providing food to those who starve, education to ignorant, water to thirsty, jobs to jobless, health care to sick. This is how we can serve the all human beings of the world.

If we don’t have above qualities as a human then I think our faces are human on the outside, but our inside is empty, lacking the qualities of a human.

This is my appeal to every one that they should consider it their personal responsibility as a human being to take care of the future of the humanity: by playing positive role, by being sincere, helping others in the world physically, financially and verbally (by giving useful advices), by working individually and together to make this world a peaceful place like Haven.

Finally I pray to the creator of the Universe that He gives wisdom and direction to all human beings of the Universe and blesses them.
